As a beginner it hard to know where to start when taking up surfing!, Don' worry just follow our Blog and Join our membership and we will get you surfing in no time.
Rule 1
Start Slowly what do we mean by this?
Well buying a board getting a wetsuit and going in the sea with 6 ft plus waves is suicide! I know I did it as a beginner its a very bad move.
So take it steady ask advice and build up your skillset and stamina to cope with the waves and currents.
Rule 2
Get Advice and take a beginners class
Before buying a board or even a wet suit, take a beginners course in surfing and ask advice on equipment, this will be based on your level and height and weight etc
Rule 3
Go with a Buddy
As well as being more social being with a friend can boost confidence and push you to be better, it also means it safer for you.
As a beginner, you should always start on lifeguarded beaches, in case you run into trouble
Rule 4
Learn Seacraft
Before entering the sea look at the tides and any potential rips in the water, watch where the other surfers are and ask why they are there. Try to spotless busy areas and as a beginner always surf to the shoulder, not on the peak, be wary of other surfers and access their skill level.
Follow these four rules and you will be fine and prepared for many happy days of Surfing.
Watch out for our next Blog on Pop-ups and Balance Techniques.
